Curated by Eric S. Oresick (MFA 2015) in collaboration with Kyle Nilan (MFA 2015) and Woomin Kim (MFA 2015), Unknown Conditions: Questions of Maleness contends with themes of masculinity. The works emphasize materiality, and the process of creation and display to defy gender boundaries. If Nilan and Oresick’s works allow viewers to explore the nuances of masculinity, Kim’s pieces act as a foil for understanding contemporary ‘maleness’ and its unraveling.
